BATTERED KNEES, PUMPKIN SPICE AND JOAN OF ARCADIA

The first meeting of the Joggers Club finally came to order yesterday as Jo, Brendan and I went for a "pleasant" run around Point "Pleasant" Park. There were plenty of people out running and walking their dogs, enjoying the crisp fall air and colourful scenery. It no doubt was a great jog, but I can barely buckle my knees today ... I think I did some serious damage. It took me almost 20 minutes to walk to work this morning, which is made even more ridiculous by the fact that I now own a car and there was really no need to spend 20 minutes in complete agony. I have decided that the Joggers Club will only meet quarterly from now on, and so I have adjourned the club until February!

After our jog Jo and I got cleaned up and met Kyle XY for some hot beverages at Starbucks (you simply must try the non-fat, pumpkin-spiced steamer ... it's my new fab fall drink and to die for). We had a nice sit down as Kyle and I discussed PR issues, we modelled our fashion sense for the barista, and we even had a gay window stalker who I never did see. He was my gay Starbucks Polka-roo!

Around 9 o'clock I jetted across the street to Park Lane where I met Kevin M. for a movie. We saw The Grudge 2. It was a decent enough movie as far as horror sequels go, but no big wows or surprises. I had the ending figured out at the beginning and the attempt to confuse us with jumping back and forth in time was in vain. However, Amber Tamblyn of Joan of Arcadia fame was in it and I just love her. One of my other faves, Sarah Michelle Gellar also made a very BRIEF appearance. Would it give too much away if I said that it's pretty certain she WON'T be appearing in part 3!

After the movie I drove Kevin home (pause for excitement over the fact that I can actually drive people home now) and he presented me with a "surprise" from his recent trip to New Brunswick. He picked me a bag of fresh potatos from his neighbour's farm. He's too sweet!

It was a very action packed, productive evening that I'm paying for today with sleepy eyes and battered knees. But who wouldn't suffer those to have the fab friends and life that I do ;-P

One of these days I will explain to you why jogging is evil.... for now, your knees will do the job for me.
