HAPPY 25th ANNIVERSARY SUE & BILLY
25 years ago today I was getting dressed in my tiny tux in preparation to be the ring bearer for my uncle Billy and aunt Sue's wedding. Last week I re-performed my duties when I went home for their anniversary celebration. It was all a bit surreal and I can hardly believe that so many years have passed. I remember that day pretty clearly, especially the part where Billy and Sue danced with me in their arms!
My childhood best friend, Krista, was the flower girl and she was also at the anniversary party. I had not spent any time with her in years and it was great to catch up. Everyone danced the night away doing jiggs and jives to old fashioned Newfoundland music. I talked to family and friends I had not seen in years. My Nanny Winnie was a party animal, insisting we stay until the bitter end. We finally left at 3:30 a.m. (just as late as a night at Reflections!). It was a fantastic night and I am glad I was home to be a part of it.
