MADONNA UPDATE: CRUCIFY HER, CRUCIFY HER ...
NBC has announced that it will not show the images of Madonna mounting a Crucifix when it airs her Confessions Tour concert special on Nov 22.
During the provocative passage, Madonna is on a mirrored cross wearing a crown of thorns as she sings Live to Tell. NBC said they will air the performance but the camera will cut to other shots or images until after Madonna gets down from the cross half way through the song.
There is still no word from Madonna on this news. A clause in her contract with the network does give her the right to pull the special if NBC decides to change it in any way. There are rumors that she is now shopping the special to MTV.
I saw the concert live and anyone who is offended simply has NO idea what actually happens in that segment or what it is really about. I hope she tells NBC where to go and refuses to allow them to air it!
